Getting Started

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Freie Universität Berlin!

We would like to welcome you to the summer semester 2026! Regardless of your subject and study program or whether you are new at FU or not - we have put together the most important information and links for you on this website.

Before the semester starts, these pages are regularly updated. So you might find more info here if you come back later again.

The lecture period starts on April 13th, 2026, but there will be events for newly enrolled students and some things to do before the beginning of the lecture period! For the Bachelor's degree programmes we also offer a preparatory course in mathematics and many introductory events in the weeks before the lecture period starts.

Got your admission but not enrolled yet? There are some cases where the enrollment gets delayed. If you got admission to your study program but are not enrolled yet, you of course still can participate at the introductory events (like information events, preparatory course, ...). If you need some help just get in touch with your mentors and they will support you where it's needed.
