Preparatory course for Mathematics

What? The preparatory course is supposed to make the transition from "school maths" to "higher maths" easier. TIt is not mandatory but we encourage you to attend it!

When? September 21 - October 9 2026

Who? Max Willert is giving the lectures.

Where? At the Department for Computer Science: Great lecture hall in Takustraße 9, 14195 Berlin. More precise information are in the Whiteboard-Course.

Orientation weeks

What? We students from mentoring already gained some experience about studying here at FU and want to help you make the transition into study life easier. Therefore we offer various events where you meet your new class mates, the Institute and the Campus. Of course we also help you understand your study regulation and how to register for your courses.

When & Where? 21.09. - 09.10.2026, at the Department for Mathematics and Computer Science together with the preparatory course. More precise information are stated in the Welcome letter. 

General information regarding ABV

According to the example study plan it is recommended to do an ABV course. The registration for those might be different to the Computer Science courses from the compulsory area. Some of them even have different registration periods.

The courses which are offered in the upcoming semester can be found in the Course catalog. Especially the courses from Zedat and the language courses from the language center have  their own application procedures and also different registration times.

• School Teacher Bachelor as 90 or 60 Credits program
• Combined Bachelor as 60/30 Credit Points Module (not for Teacher Training!)
