You're not enrolled yet? That's not a problem, just come by anyway! As long as you're not enrolled, we cannot send you information so keep an eye on this page and the welcome letter if there are new information. If there are any questions, feel free to write us an e-mail (see below)!

Preparatory course for Mathematics

Only before the start of winter semester there is a prep course for Mathematics to make the transition from school maths to University maths easier. This time it is conducted by Olaf Parczyk and takes place every day from September 29 until October 10 2025.

Orientation day

What? We students from Mentoring gained some experience about studying here at FU and want to support your start into your studies.That's why we offer various events where you can get to know your new class mates, the  Institute and campus. Of course we also help you understand the study regulation and how to register for courses. 

You can find the detailed program in your Welcome letter (see below).

General information regarding ABV

According to the example study plan it is recommended to do an ABV course. The registration for those might be different to the Computer Science courses from the compulsory area. Some of them even have different registration periods.

The courses which are offered in the upcoming semester can be found in the Course catalog. Especially the courses from Zedat and the language courses from the language center have  their own application procedures and also different registration times.

Official Welcome event

What? At the welcome event you get welcomed by the important staff at our department. You get to know your lecturers from your courses, the heads of the examination boards, those running our department and also from people who offer consultations and areas where you can join in yourself and  get engaged. They take place at the first day of lectures (Dies Academicus) and are in German.
