Consistent, rational argumentation in politics seems on the retreat, while socially dangerous, inconsistent and irrational propaganda is on the rise.

Can knowledge representation and reasoning techniques (that is, AI techniques) be developed and applied to support a deep semantical analysis of arguments in politics? In other words: Can AI systems help to identify and reveal crappy arguments in politics and isolate them from acceptable ones?

If successful, the project may help to raise the awareness in society about fake figures in politics and their (re-occurring) methods.
