Although the definition of a Grassmannian can be understood by anyone who has taken a course on Linear Algebra, it actually has a very rich and subtle structure and has become a very important tool in many fields. In this talk we will introduce the definition of a Grassmannian and some of its basic properties in a very elementary way with the aim to convince the audience about its significance.Comments
