What is … a CAT(0) space?

This page hosts information on Sebastian Meinert's talk "What is … a CAT(0) space?" at the "What is …?" seminar. The talk will take place on Friday, November 14, 1:30pm at the BMS Loft at Urania. This talk will help you better understand the talk by Stephanie B. Alexander, which will start at 2pm.

Abstract

A CAT(0) space is a metric space in which geodesic triangles are at most as thick as in Euclidean space. We will make this notion precise and explain some basic features of CAT(0) spaces, like contractibility.
