Abstract: There are several approaches to harmonic analysis depending on the geometric structure of the manifolds under consideration. After reviewing some basic concepts from harmonic analysis, we show how to utilize a Kählerian structure for harmonic analytic questions. We discuss (higher order) Cauchy-Riemann operators and associated nearly holomorphic functions, and use these structures to obtain recent results in harmonic analysis on compact Hermitian symmetric spaces.
