At the Human-Centered Computing Research Group (HCC), a position as a student assistant (SHK) with a workload of 41 hours per month is available as of December 1, 2025, subject to funding approval by the third-party funder.

The HCC research group at the Institute of Computer Science of Freie Universität Berlin is an interdisciplinary team led by Prof. Dr. Claudia Müller-Birn, conducting research and teaching in the areas of Collaborative Computing and Human-Computer Interaction. We are particularly concerned with how user interfaces in the field of medical AI can support users in reflecting on and interpreting content. Our methodological approaches are grounded in human-centered, participatory design and encompass both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Our values

  • We offer an open, interdisciplinary, and dynamic work environment in which people from diverse backgrounds and experiences are welcome.
  • We are committed to open-source software, open science, and free access to knowledge.
