Algorithmic creation of custom-tailored catering menus based on pattern detection in historic and usage data
The goals of this thesis are to determine the process of the creation of custom- tailored catering menus and to construct and to validate an algorithm, which can create a custom-tailored catering menu automatically. In the first part, there is an introduction to the problem and its domain. The second part is devoted to the discussion about two approaches: one is data driven and the other interview driven. These two approaches are used in order to find patterns, causalities and investigate the manual process of creating custom-tailored catering menus. In the third part, the manual process is translated into an algorithm step by step. The last part gives an outlook on further improvements and on continuous learning.
