Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Freie Universität Berlin.

This is what we have on offer for all those with an interest in Mathematics or Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science or Computational Sciences, such as pupils, (prospective) students, or guest auditors.

Girls' Day

Freie Universität Berlin has been participating in organizing the nationwide Girls' Day since 2002.

In a number of workshops on diverse topics, school girls may conduct their own experiments, discuss scientific results, and learn about the work of important researchers -- thus getting to know real university life.

SommerUNI

Are you a 10th grader or older and are keen to have an impression of university life? Then welcome to our SummerUNI:

During the last two weeks of the Berlin summer holidays you may discover the MINT subjects Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Technology, and participate in workshops, listen to exciting lectures about current research, and get to know our degree programs.

Long Night of the Sciences

Celebrate the Long Night of the Sciences in Berlin with us. Once a year most doors on campus remain open from 3-12 pm. More than 200 fascinating projects showcase the diversity at Freie Universität Berlin. Experience the latest research up close -- from experiments to interactive hands-on activities.

Are you interested in studying Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science or Computational Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin? Here you will find all the information about studying at our department. We look forward to seeing you!

Note however: The majority of our degree programs in Computer Science are GERMAN degrees, which means lectures are held in GERMAN. There is NO Bachelor in Computer Science or Bioinformatics offered in English.
The Masters in Bioinformatics, Data Science and Computational Sciences are the only programs offered in English.
