Daniel Seidel:
Further development of an extension for the use of the semantic web
Contents
Building on Jennifer Gebske's bachelor thesis, this paper documents the further development of GoHyper. GoHyper is a Chrome Extension, which was originally intended as a personal research tool. GoHyper will be newly implemented with a more up-to-date framework and a connection to Neonion's backend.
Neonion is a website, which was developed in the context of a research project of Prof. Dr. C. Müller-Birn for the investigation of the Semantic Web. This further development of GoHyper turns the original research tool into a first version of a user interface for using the Semantic Web.
With GoHyper annotations, comments and highlights can be set, deleted and manipulated. The REST-based API, with which GoHyper communicates with Neonion's backend, is developed using Swagger and can also be tracked in a GIT repository along with the further development of GoHyper.
The focus of the work lies in the function-oriented implementation of GoHyper, which was originally realized with the first version of AngularJS and is now to receive an update via React and Redux. The annotations will be stored in the backend of Neonion.
