Post-Quantum Crypto for the Finance Sector
Abstract
By 2030, quantum computers could be capable of breaking the asymmetric cryptographic methods currently in use, creating a need for quantum-resistant encryption standards. Due to its many players, different components, and regulatory requirements, the financial sector faces challenges in transitioning to more agile and hybrid cryptographic protocols. The project aims to overcome these challenges by developing and implementing application-oriented protocols that meet the performance and security requirements for various components and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, demonstrators are to be created to prove the feasibility of the developed concepts and solutions, migration concepts are to show how the protocols can be integrated into existing infrastructures, and security evaluations for components in the financial sector are to be prepared during development.
