Human-Centered Computing

The HCC Data Lab is conceived as an open space for exchange and collaboration and thus is responsible for organizing our group's participation in events that are open to the general public, such as the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften (Long Night of the Sciences). We also initiate events such as presentations of students' results at the end of the semester and organize and host public talks for which we invite interesting researchers from a range of disciplines. The Events and Talks will be documented on this website.

Girls' Day 2023 Event Report

For the 2023 edition of the Girls' Day, we adapted last year's workshop concept "Hey Siri, play my favorite song" to an in-person, hands-on format. Participants were offered a look behind the scenes of virtual assistants and interactively experienced how chatbots are built.

Forum Privatheit 2022: Talk by Prof. Dr. Claudia Müller-Birn

At the Forum Privatheit 2022 annual conference, which took place on October 13-14 in Berlin, Prof. Dr. Claudia Müller-Birn gave the talk: "Value Sensitive Design as an Approach for Individual and Collective Self-Determination".

LNDW: Privacy from the perspective of human-computer interaction

The HCC Research Group contributed to the 2022 Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften (LNDW) with three formats that focused on communicating privacy risks associated with digital services. We look back on the LNDW in this event report.

Girls' Day 2022 Event Report
