3. ENTERPRISE FAIR: DIGITAL STARTUP ECOSYSTEM (6 & 7 NOVEMBER 2017)
From health services, over chemical processes and digital publishing to programmatic advertising - digital technologies change our personal and professional life. This change is enabled by entrepreneurs who take the opportunities of a newly arising startup ecosystem. Hosted by Deutsche Bahn and in partnership with the Freie Universität Berlin, this event will explore key issues in entrepreneurship for junior researchers through a series of talks, panel sessions, one-on-one sessions and networking.
You are invited to join junior researchers from across Europe to learn about entrepreneurship from your ideas and research. You will have the unique opportunity to gain advice from start-up CEOs, corporate entrepreneurs, marketing and HR experts, IP lawyers, angel investors and venture capitalists in eye-to-eye meetings. A limited amount of places is available by application.
- Meet Postdocs interested in entrepreneurship from Cambridge, Glasgow, Innsbruck, and Paris
- Get in touch with founders of knowledge-based startups, corporate and private investors, as well as managers and researchers of companies such as Deutsche Bahn, Astra Zeneca, Shell, BP ...
- No matter if you are just interested to learn more, have your first idea, or already jumped into your entrepreneurial project, participate on workshops to take the next step
Learn more about the event on www.startup-ecosystem.org (participation for junior researchers from all faculties of FU Berlin is free-of-charge after application!)

5. “TEN MUST-READS FOR POSTDOCS”
„Es darf gefeiert werden! Und zwar die Postdoc-Appreciation-Week. Die wird seit nunmehr acht Jahren von der US-amerikanischen National Postdoctoral Association ausgerufen – man feiert sich also selbst. Kein Wunder, wenn es die Profs schon nicht tun. So oder so: Zu diesem Anlass hat man bei Times Higher Education eine Leseliste zusammengestellt, die 10 Must-Reads für Postdocs. ”
