Prof. Edriss Titi was an Einstein Visiting Fellow in the second funding period. In the third funding period of the CRC he will mainly contribute to the research of projects A02, B09, C06, and C09 in terms of the rigorous analysis of and the numerical mathematics for the PDEs of continuum mechanics. Specifically, A02 and C06 will continue their successfull close cooperation on the justification and existence and uniqueness theory of reduced dynamical models for moist atmospheric flows. With project C09 as well as B09, Edriss Titi will continue his collaboration on the modeling and analysis of visco-plastic flows, with a particular focus on models used in the geosciences of solid earth.
