Our current research focuses on visualization, participation, and machine learning. Our theory-driven research includes both an empirical and an engineering dimension.

We offer a creative and open environment for the realization of your research interests and will support you sustainably in realizing your academic ambitions (e.g. by participation in conferences, further education). We are committed to open source software, open science, and free access to knowledge.

Field of Activity

This position is part of the BMBF-funded interdisciplinary project WerteRadar (ValuesRadar), in which an interactive software for the reflected transmission of health data, in the sense of Reflective Technologies, is to be implemented. A challenge for individual reflection is to understand the possibilities of data protection measures, in the context of differential privacy. Therefore, research will be conducted on innovative visualization concepts which, by conveying the working method of Differential Privacy, allow the individual to weigh up the desire for data protection on the one hand and the possibilities of improved medical care on the other hand in a more sustainable way. Co-creation workshops will be conducted within a value-oriented approach. This interdisciplinary project will take place in close cooperation with the Charité, the Fraunhofer AISEC Secure Systems Engineering, and the media didactics of the University of Cologne.
