Ethic-AI.D – Ethically-aligned AI diagnostics for rare diseases
On March 9, 2026, the kickoff meeting of our research project »ETHIC-AI.D« took place at the Universitätsklinikum Bonn. We, the consortium consisting of Freie Universität Berlin, Universitätsklinkum Bonn, and ACHSE e.V., came together in this constellation to meet in person, exchange ideas, discuss the project's central objectives, and plan the next steps in our collaboration.
ETHIC-AI.D examines the ethical, social, and normative challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of rare diseases, particularly in children and adolescents. The project follows an interdisciplinary and participatory approach, incorporating the perspectives of affected individuals, their families, and medical professionals.
