Information for beginners WS 2019/20
Students who start their master's degree in bioinformatics in winter semester 2019/20 will be studying according to new study and examination regulations.
Three basic modules, 6 credit points each, must be done within the first semester. All three modules consist of a lecture (2 SWS = hours per week) and an exercise/tutorial (2 SWS):
- Foundations in Computer Science
- Foundations in Mathematics and Statistics
- Foundations in Bio-Medicine
In addition, there is an introductory module provided (12 credit points). This introductory module consists of a lecture series (2 SWS) and a seminar (2 SWS):
- Introduction to Focus Areas. This introduces three profile areas (Advanced Algorithms, Complex Systems and Data Science) and should support the basis of decision-making for the students own profile area.
The schedule for the first semester has been created already, but changes are not excluded. The timetable is valid from Tuesday 15 October. On Monday 14 October only the Welcome Event will take place.
Further information will follow, at the latest on the Welcome Event on the first day of the lecture period.
You can now register to the new courses in Campus Management. But it is not necessary to register before the beginning of the lecture period.
