Here is a link to the IGA Seminar (Interuniversity Seminar in Geometric Analysis). This is a joint research seminar hosted between researchers from multiple institutes. The seminar takes place several times per semester and rotates between the participating universities. The seminar focuses on current research topics in Geometric Analysis and related areas, including Differential Geometry, Geometric PDEs, Calculus of Variations, and Geometric Measure Theory.

AI and in particular Large Language Models have developed rapidly and their influence on the world of mathematics is already very visible. I collected some thoughts of mathematicians how to react to these development. They also address fundamental questions like "What is mathematics and why do we do it?" and "How can we react to this development?":

The persons behind these links are responsible for the content, not me. I wanted to collect some links to make them available.

Mathematicians are shaping their fields of mathematics. Take on your responsibility and shape your field so that it is prepared for the future.

My research focuses on geometric variational problems and their connections to other areas of mathematics, such as differential topology. I study critical points of geometric functionals as well as parabolic evolution equations that arise from their gradient flows. Central questions include properties of critical points such as existence and uniqueness and analysis of singularities of geometric flows. I also investigate global features -- such as embeddedness and symmetry of minimizers of geometric functionals or stability analysis of critical points. I am particularly fascinated by non-orientable surfaces, the Willmore functional, and geometric partial differential equations of fourth order in general.
