******************************************************************************************************************************************

The group existed from June 2014 to February 2019 at Freie Universität Berlin.
Prof. Annalisa Marsico moved to Munich to lead the team Computational RNA Biology at the Institute of Computational Biology (ICB) at the HelmholtzZentrum München.

The High Throughput Genomics group of Prof. Dr. Annalisa Marsico, jointly established by the FU Berlin (FB Mathematics and Computer Science) and the MPI for Molecular Genetics, focused on the bioinformatics of non-coding RNAs in both eukaryotes and bacteria and their predicted role in gene regulatory networks.

Besides the implementation of pipelines to analyze and integrate several types of novel high-throughput genomic data (small RNA-seq, i-CLIP and Hi-C data), the research aimed at building coherent stastical models to explain the data and ultimately help deriving mechanistic biological hypothesis about non-coding RNA function and regulation.
Close collaboration with experimental groups inside and outside FU in order to validate the in silico predictions with wet lab experiments was part of the research.

Prof. Marsico taught in the Bioinformatics course of studies offered by FB Mathematics and Computer Science, BCP, and Universitätsmedizin Charité.
