The HCC.lab (hcc.mi.fu-berlin.de) is an interdisciplinary team in the field of Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Collaborative Computing. We investigate how human cognition can be enhanced by machine "intelligence" (e.g., machine learning, knowledge graphs) to improve collaboration between humans and machines. Our research includes both an empirical and an engineering dimension. On the one hand, we investigate how people interact with algorithmic systems, for example, in their decision-making processes. On the other side, we develop applications, for example in the areas of ideation and visualization, where algorithmic systems augment a person's activities.
The position is affiliated to the research project IKON. The overarching goal of the project is to visualize research project data transparent and experienceable for the Museum für Naturkunde (MfN). For this purpose, both a browser-based and a multi-touch-based user interface will be developed.
Support the further development of a multi-touch-based prototype with several dynamic data visualizations; Support realizing prototypes and interactive proof-of-concepts; support the planning and execution of user studies.
