The Computer Science building is not right at the road. It can be accessed by feet, however, from Takustrasse, Arnimallee and Altensteinstrasse. Handicapped persons and transportation services use the bell in front of the barred driveways (to be opened automatically during office hours) at Takustrasse 9 or Altensteinstaße 23. |
Public transport
You need a valid ticket 'Berlin ABC' from Schönefeld airport (SXF) or 'Berlin AB' from Tegel airport (TXL) and all railway stations. Depending on your needs, you can buy a day ticket (Tageskarte) ABC or AB valid for 24 hours. All tickets are valid on trains of the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, on trams (MetroTram/Straßenbahn), and (Metro)buses.
The underground station Dahlem-Dorf, line U3, is in some 8 minutes walking distance. Bus stops Arnimallee (Bus X83) and Limonenstraße (Bus 101) are in 4 minutes walking distance. Further links given on the right side of this page provide links to city maps and public transport information.
Directions from main stations and airports
From Hauptbahnhof (central railway station)
- Take any S-Bahn that goes westwards.
- Get off after 6 stations, at Westkreuz.
- Take any south/eastbound S-Bahn.
- Get off after three stations, at Heidelberger Platz.
- Change into U-Bahn U3, southbound (Krumme Lanke).
- Get off at Dahlem-Dorf.
- Exit the underground station and follow the detailed partial campus map (you are at the little U in the top left corner).
- Estimated travel time is 50 minutes from Hauptbahnhof.
From railway station Friedrichstraße
- Take S-Bahn S1 southbound, direction Wannsee/Potsdam Hbf.
- Get off at Rathaus Steglitz.
- Take bus X83 direction Königin-Luise-Str./Clayallee.
- Get off at stop Arnimallee.
- Follow the detailed partial campus map.
- Estimated travel time is 40 minutes from Friedrichstraße.
From airport Schönefeld
Please note that until further progress of the new airport infrastructure, the S-Bahn station remains in 10 minutes WALKING distance from the arrival hall ... A taxi right away from the arrival hall will cost some 37 €.
- Take S-Bahn S45 towards Gesundbrunnen.
- Get off at Heidelberger Platz.
- Change into U-Bahn U3, southbound (Krumme Lanke).
- Get off at Dahlem-Dorf.
- Exit the underground station and follow the detailed partial campus map (you are at the little U in the top left corner).
- Estimated travel time is 80 minutes from Schönefeld.
From airport Schönefeld: alternative (some 80 minutes)
- Airport bus (directly from arrival terminal!) Bus 171, direction U Hermannplatz, every 20 minutes.
- Change: Johannisthaler Ch./Rudower Str.
- take bus X11, direction U Dahlem-Dorf, (Mo-Fr every 10 minutes) to U Dahlem-Dorf

From airport Schönefeld: alternative (less than 60 minutes)
- SXF1 express bus to Südkreuz (20 minutes. Extra-Ticket necessary), then continue with S-Bahn as above.
From airport Tegel
- Take bus X9 oder 109 (right at the airport building) direction Zoo.
- Get off at stop Jakob-Kaiser-Platz.
- Take U-Bahn U7 direction Rudow.
- Get off at U-Bhf. Fehrbelliner Platz.
- Take U-Bahn U3 direction Krumme Lanke.
- Get off at Dahlem-Dorf.
- Exit the underground station and follow the detailed partial campus map (you are at the little U in the top left corner).
- Estimated travel time is 60 minutes from airport Tegel (20 minutes by taxi for € 25).
Access by car via the Autobahn
- Take Autobahn A115 exit "Hüttenweg" (2)
- follow Hüttenweg until Clayallee (2nd lights)
- then turn left and
- follow the map that you get when you follow this link (Takustr. 9) and then switch to "Kartengröße 5x5" and "Zoomstufen ca. M 1:20000"
- Finally use the above-linked detailed map of department buildings.
